Kid Super AW24 ‘String Theory’

Quizzically captivated by the ever-growing abyss of dark infinite and the titanic swirling land masses that propagate the galaxy. We are all stardust and particles colliding within space, reacting and unraveling as each moment blows away. But it is these moments that cement themselves within time and send waves through the cosmos that catalyse change forever and always.

Colm’s multi-dimensional Fall/Winter collection, much like Hawking's work, harnesses every essence and expertise that exists within Kid Super’s universe. Never one to shy from theatrics, as the packed venue started to simmer down a troupe of violinists drew everyones attention to the runway. The first look graced the barren space, through interpretive dance a black ruffled outfit was unspooled by the second model to reveal a sleek peaked lapel suit sparkling with pointillist portraits.

A cascade of casual suiting, delicate dresses and oversized overcoats followed. The classic adoration for art prints and contrasting colours we have come to expect from the label was in full effect. With rapper Jim Jones swaggering down in a burgundy suit and teddy coat embroidered with Dillane’s doodles.

Chunky knits, dip-dyed denims and hypercolour downs were neatly paired with collared shirts, slouched slacks and bulked up derbies. It was accessories galore as we were treated to chunky knit scarves, barrel bags of varying sizes and mammoth scaled Ushanka. The season titled ‘String Theory’ closed by the final model’s loose knit jumper and trouser combo being ripped away from him with each step down the runway pulling the strings apart, revealing a tastily tailored vanilla cream suit.

Yet the spectacle was somewhat overshadowed, as only a few moments earlier donning double denim and draped in fur strutted Ronaldhino. A captivating surprise that sent shockwaves post finale with the Brooklyn-based designer remarking over the microphone, “I got Ronaldinho to walk, nothing else matters”.
